Using NetHASP with Elipse Software’s products.

NetHASP is a hardkey for operating on network level. By using a NetHASP connected to a network computer (the server), it is possible to run Elipse’s programs in several other machines (the clients), with no need for connecting a hardkey to each one of them. The clients will access the NetHASP server via network, where licenses will be controlled.

NOTE: To use NetHASP with Elipse SCADA, you will need a different set of configurations. For further information, see the article KB-32383: Using NetHASP at Elipse SCADA.

All Elipse’s programs install the hardkey driver (HASPDINST) automatically. By default, the HASPDINST will search for licenses on the whole network, as seen at Sentinel Admin Control Centerhttp://localhost:1947, so initially you won’t need to set up neither side to retrieve a NetHASP on the network. If the licenses’ server has no Elipse program, you will need to install the hardkey driver, which can be downloaded from our website.

In more sensitive systems, we recommend that you set up the NetHASP computer to serve licenses only to a few specific client machines, and the client machines to access NetHASP in a specific server. To do so, follow these procedures:

Server Configuration:

  • Access the Sentinel Admin Control Center via http://localhost:1947 and select the Configuration option.
  • On Access from Remote Clients tab (http://localhost:1947/_int_/config_from.html), check the Allow Access from Remote Clients option and set up the Access Restrictions field.
  • Example: to allow only ElipseServerPC1 and ElipseServerPC2 to access NetHASP in this machine, set them up as follows:

Clients Configuration:

  • In the machines where Elipse is executed, access the Sentinel Admin Control Center via http://localhost:1947 and select the Configuration option.
  • On Access to Remote License Managers tab (http://localhost:1947/_int_/config_to.html), check the Allow Access to Remote Licenses option and fill the Specify Search Parameters field with the NetHASP server’s IP or name:
