KB-36304: Message “Downloaded file is corrupted” is displayed when the WebViewer opens.

Question:

When I open the WebViewer, the message “Downloaded file is corrupted” is displayed. How can I work around this?

Solution:

To do so, follow these procedures, according to your browser:

In Internet Explorer 7:  Open Tools–Manage Complements–Enable or Disable Complements. At Show, select Complements that were used by Internet Explorer. On the displayed list, select E3DownloadCtrl Class item and click Exclude. Click OK, restart your browser, and try to access the WebViewer.

In  Internet Explorer 8: Open Tools–Manage Complements. At Show, select All complements. On the displayed list, right-click E3DownloadCtrl Class item, and then select More Information. On the next window, click Remove.

NOTES:

  • The E3DownloadCtrl Class and E3WebViewer Control complements must be enabled.
  • You may have to exclude the E3webviewer-x86-ptb.exe file from C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Local Settings\Temp or C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Temp folder.
