KB-35928: Save() method at OnStopRunning event not working.

Question:

At an application, Save() method is used on the DataFolder object’s OnStopRunning event to save a SetPoint’s content. However, when the computer unexpectedly shuts down, the SetPoint’s content is lost. Why does this occur?

Solution:

This occurs because the OnStopRunning event is being used on the DataFolder object, which belongs to the server; so, to be executed, this event expects that you close the E3 Server first.

Thus, to make it properly work on this event, you must close the E3 Server (via E3Admin–Domain–Close option) before turning off the computer.

However, we recommend that you use Save() method on another event, in order to prevent the event from not being executed if the computer unexpectedly shuts down.
