Can Elipse E3 work as an OPC Client, accessing all variables from either a local server or a server on the network? How can it be done?
Solution:
Elipse E3 is a native OPC client, and can connect to any OPC server.
E3 does not require any special license to work as an OPC client. However, the amount of I/O tags to be accessed must be accounted for in the total number of E3Server’s license points.
NOTE: Elipse E3 is also an OPC server. For that purpose, you must always enable OPC Server module in the license.
