Question:
I am not being able to establish communication in E3 between DNP Master and Slave drivers when executing the master application. In the slave machine, there are two open connections in the selected port; one of them displays “close_wait“, and the other one displays “establish“. The master machine, however, does not have any open connections. How can I fix this?
Solution:
When the master PC is closed in an abrupt way, the slave PC is not warned the connection has been closed and, therefore, keeps waiting for the port to close. To avoid this, check the option Disconnect If non-responsive for …. seconds on the DNP Slave driver’s Setup tab. This will force the port’s disconnection if there is no answer from the master in the indicated time.
