KB-24823: Sending data from the application to a mobile phone.

Question:

Can Elipse’s supervisory systems send information to a mobile phone?

Solution:

Yes, they can. This can be accomplished in one of the following ways:

1) Use Elipse’s GSM driver, developed to communicate with applications developed on Elipse Software and GSM/GPRS modems manufactred by the most several manufacturers. The Elipse GSM’s priority is to communicate with external GSM/GPRS modems through serial interface.
Pros: messages are sent directly;
Cons: requires a Modem and the purchase of a driver’s license.

2) Use SendMail driver
and create a paid e-mail account in a mobile phone network. Once it has
been created, the supervisory will send e-mails to the network, which
will in turn send SMS messages to your phones.
Pros: does not require a Modem;
Cons: this service is charged monthly.

3) Use Elipse’s Siemens M20 driver and send SMS messages directly from the supervisory to your phones.
Pros: messages are sent directly;
Cons: requires a Modem and the purchase of a driver’s license.

4) Use Elipse’s Voice driver to send sound files. It works very similarly to Siemens M20, including with the same pros and cons.
