Figures with a dotted ‘X” on screen.

Question:

When inserting a figure onto screen via E3Studio, why does it display a dotted X instead of the figure, even though its path has been correctly set?

Solution:

One possibility is that you have inserted a 32-bit figure; E3 uses a 24-bit standard instead, RGB.

When using programs that are specific for generating images, such as Corel Draw or Photoshop, you must be extra careful when saving the file because, even if it is saved in JPG format, the figure can be incompatible with E3 if its resolution is not supported.

Question:

When running the application, why are there dotted Xs being displayed where the background figures were supposed to be?

Solution:

This happens whenever the file directory is altered; thus, E3 will not be able to locate the figures on the path informed in PictureFile property. To prevent this from happening, always insert figures as Resources in you projects.
