Video: Elipse Power.

This video illustrates some functionalities of Elipse Power, Elipse Software’s new product for electric systems applications.

This application models a fictitious system containing two substations, both interconnected by a transmission line and a feeder. This system is very simple, but it demonstrates Elipse Power’s different objects and the type of connection between them.

On Diagrama Tronco screen, you can have a general view of the system, and you’re able to identify the two substations with its feeders and transmission lines. Notice that only the more relevant devices are displayed on this screen, because its goal is to just illustrate the system status as broadly as possible.

On Subestação1 and Subestação2 screens, you can see all the devices that comprise these substations. These are the screens used by the operation, where you can check the status of all devices.

On Distribuição screen, you will find a schematic plan representing the distribution system, where you will be able to check the devices and loads existing in each feeder, as well as the way each feeder connects to the others. This is also where you will see how distributed generation works.

The Alarmes screen shows alarms in real time, allowing you to apply filters by device and by measurement types. On the trends screen, you will be able to check (graphically) the values of each system’s measurement, in a tree view containing the system’s structure.

Running alongside this application are two electric modules: Topology Processor and Power Flow. These modules are algorithms whose goal is to optimize the system’s operational tools.

The Topology Processor module’s goal is to inform the operator whether a certain section is energized, based on the information collected in real time.

The  Power Flow module informs the values of Active and Reactive Potency, Current, and Tension, at any point in the system, allowing for simulations that can be used, for example, to build an operators training system (OTS).

Thoughts on “Video: Elipse Power.

  1. Como logro hacer esa simulación del flujo y su dirección cuando se va ebergizando?
En la versión que yo tengo solamente se anima teniendo un color más fuerte cuando hay tensión y más claro cuando no se tiene tensión. Muchas gracias
