Question:
Does Elipse E3 use RC4 algotithm for encryption? Will it be affected if RC4 is disabled?
Solution:
RC4 is a stream cipher widely used for data encryption and decryption. Although this algorithm is remarkable for its simplicity and speed, a great number of vulnerabilities have been discovered since its inception, which makes it not safe for use.
According to the security advisory, Microsoft has reported the vulnerability and then launched an update for disabling RC4.
However, this update doesn’t affect Elipse E3, because it doesn’t use this algorithm for its transactions.
