How can connection quality be monitored via Driver Elipse Ping?
Solution:
To do so, use the Value property of the tag referring to a device/PC via an IP address. If the driver manages to communicate with the IP address, this property’s value will be 1; if it doesn’t, Value property will be set as 0.
From this, you can create a TrackEvent that monitors Value property and executes a command script whenever the property changes.
We recommend that you not use the tag’s Quality property due to its behavior when connection is lost: when the tag’s value is 0 (indicating there has been some issues regarding the connection to the parameterized address), Quality property starts changing between the values 20 and 192 continuously until the connection is reestablished.
