Question:
By default, Elipse E3 closes when the hardkey is disconnected; what must I do when it closes while the hardkey remains connected?
Solution:
To fix this, follow these procedures:
- Update the hardkey’s driver to the latest available version.
- Check how well the hardkey is working at Admin Control Center (http://127.0.0.1:1947).
- Check if there are service failures in the hardkey (hasplms). This can be seen at Window’s logs (eventvwr.msc) and in logs at the folders “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Aladdin Shared\HASP” or “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Aladdin Shared” in a 64-bit computer. If the service is not running, try to reboot it (for example, via services.msc).
- Check if the hardkey is connected to a local machine port or to a virtual USB. In case it is connected to a virtual USB via network, check the network and the hardkey host for any problems. In case it is connected to a local USB, check if the USB port is still working (for example, by using another device such as a mouse, a keyboard, a pen drive, etc.).
- Enable more logs at Admin Control Center (Configuration tab) so that should the problem happen again, there will be more details that will help track down its cause.
