Does Elipse Software have any kind of restrictions or recommendations regarding the application of Windows correction patches in the computers running their products (Elipse SCADA, E3, Viewer/Studio)? Can a routine of automatically applying Windows patches in these machines via Microsoft’s SCCM be devised? Or will it impact negatively with the software?
Solution:
Elipse Software recommends these computers always be kept updated. Many issues corrected by updates can and will impact positively in our products.
Naturally, we cannot guarantee all corrections made by Microsoft will only benefit the software, but since our test and development machines are kept constantly updated, on theory any negative change occurring will be fixed by Elipse as soon as possible.
We recommend the computers’ drivers be also kept updated, since too many defective drivers can have a negative impact in our products (ex: network adaptor driver, audio adaptor driver, disk controller driver, etc.).
