Question:
When I try to open E3WebViewer (remote access to Domain via Internet Explorer), the following message is displayed: “Server not found (ping failed), retrying…”, and it is impossible to proceed. Why does it happen? How can I fix it?
Solution:
Vista (or higher) systems’ IE 7 versions have an Internet Explorer’s work mode called Protected Mode. When it is on, anything running on IE (for example: ActiveX controls such as E3 WebViewer) works in a limited way and has its privileges reduced. Connection failures and denied access, among others, can happen because of these limitations.
To fix this, you have to run IE with higher permissions (Run as administrator), and then Protected Mode will be disabled.
