Description:
Is it possible to change applications running in Hot-Standby mode? What is the best way to perform this?
Solution:
Yes, it is possible to perform any change. To do so, it is recommended to follow these procedures:
- Copy all files (*.dom, *.prj, *.lib, etc.) from the application running in Hot-Standby mode to a third computer, with E3 Studio installed.
- Perform all changes needed, and then save the application.
- Close E3 Studio and copy all application files to both computers running in Hot-Standby mode (overwriting the existing files).
- In any computer running in Hot-Standby mode, right-click the E3 Admin icon, in Windows Notification Area, and then select the option Domain – Refresh). Thus, application files on both computers are updated!
By performing the previous steps, the system keeps running and the application update is performed, without loosing Hot-Standby functionalities and system operation.
