How many driver licenses are needed to establish communication with 35 remote units?
Solution:
There are two possibilities, depending on the Modbus network’s architecture:
- If all 35 RTUs belong to the same network, sharing a single IP, and if each RTU stands for a node in the network, you will only need one driver license. You will also only need one if the network is RS485 and each RTU has a different address.
- If each RTU has a different IP address, you will need 35 driver licenses.
