Can I share a DLL/connection between two or more I/O drivers?
Solution:
Yes, the same DLL can be used by multiple drivers, as each driver instance runs its own communication process independently. It is not necessary to have a dedicated DLL for each driver.
The only exception occurs when the ShareServer property is enabled.
If ShareServer property is set as TRUE, this driver will share its execution between the other drivers sharing the same string in DriverLocation property. This means that only the first configured driver will initialize I/O, while the others will ignore their specific settings and have their tags use the connection already started.
