No, you can’t. To communicate using a USB cable, you must use either a Prodave driver or OPC communication; when using Prodave, you will need to have Siemens’ software installed. This happens because the Elipse driver can’t communicate directly with the PLC, and it will therefore need to ask the software, which will in turn will communicate with the PLC. When using OPC communication, you will need to install the server.
