Question:
How can I create a Viewer shortcut for connecting directly to the domain?
Solution:
To do so, follow these procedures:
- Click Start–All Programs–Elipse Software–Elipse E3.
- Right-click the Viewer and select Send to–Desktop (create shortcut).
- On the desktop, right-click the previously created shortcut. Select Properties.
- On the window that pops up, edit the destination path, adding to its end the IP or the name of the server where the application is executed.
Example of shortcut that opens a Viewer and connects it to the local server:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Elipse Software\Elipse E3\Bin\E3Viewer.exe” 127.0.0.1
To open a Viewer Only (and not a Viewer Control), add -readonly to the name of the server.
Example of shortcut to a Viewer Only:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Elipse Software\Elipse E3\Bin\E3Viewer.exe” 127.0.0.1 -readonly
NOTE: if the x64 version of Elipse E3 is installed, you must create the Viewer shortcut directly at a BIN32 folder, available at Elipse E3’s installation directory:
C:\Program Files\Elipse Software\Elipse E3\Bin32
