Can an Elipse E3/Power object edited and saved in the latest version of the software open in applications running version 4.8 or lower? I want to open a Historic/Storage edited and saved in version 5.0 in an environment running the system’s previous version. Is it possible?

No, this is not possible.
When you are on an environment running Elipse E3 version 5.0, if you try to edit an object that was saved in previous versions, the following message is displayed:
In this case, there are two possible options:
- Cancel edition, or
- Save edition.
When you choose saving the edition (option 2), keep in mind that the Historic/Storage object’s structure is now different for versions 5.0 and higher. Therefore, a Historic/Storage edited and saved in version 5.0 can no longer open in previous versions.
In short, the main changes that took place in these object’s structures with Elipse E3/Power latest version are:
Historics (version 5.0):
- New property: Fields. This property returns the Fields collection in a Historic.
- Improved Historic fields: from now on, they are objects that appear in the Organizer.
- Improved indexes and primary switches settings; these settings now take place with Elipse E3’s native objects.
Storage (version 5.0):
- E3 Storage was thoroughly reviewed, and several improvements were implemented.
