Since its version 4.6, Elipse E3 can’t be installed or executed in a CPU with SSE2 (Streaming SIMD Extensions 2) instructions. Hardware with older CPUs usually can’t support these instructions, which interferes with the installation and execution of not only Elipse E3 and Elipse Power, but of other systems as well.
To check whether your CPU supports these instructions, you can use systems like Everest or CPU-Z.
Any attempts to install Elipse E3 or Elipse Power in a CPU with no SSE2 will generate the following message: “Installation cannot proceed!“.
This message corresponds to Error 0xc000001d, which according to the NTSTATUS table reads as follows:
0xC000001D – STATUS_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION – {EXCEPTION} Illegal Instruction An attempt was made to execute an illegal instruction.
If Elipse E3’s manual installation is forced in a CPU with no SSE2, it’s processes won’t run, not even the ones not using eeLogs, such as E3Tweak. Therefore, we emphasize that a forced manual installation is not recommended. In this case, we suggest the hardware be upgraded or, if not possible, that Elipse E3 version 4.5 or lower be used instead. Notice however that this procedure can still cause errors if the communication driver was updated in August 2014 or later.
