This article will show you how to install and set up a Firebird database connected to Elipse E3 via ODBC.First of all, you will need to download the installer. Then, follow the procedures illustrated below:
NOTE: This article applies to the version 2.5 of the database. Different versions may require different procedures.

Select a place to install the Firebird database.

Add a shortcut to the database at Start menu.

After these, download and install the ODBC drivers for Windows connection.

After these, you will be able to set up the OBDC connection via ODBC Data Source Admin, which can be found at one of the following:
- 32 bits: Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> ODBC Data Source
- 64 bits: Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> ODBC Data Source (32 bits) or C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
Select System DNS and click Add.

Select Firebird/InterBase(r) driver

Set up a name and a description for the connection. Then, select the database at Database field and add a username and password for Firebird (by default: username = SYSDBA password = masterkey).

Test the connection; if successful, it means the Firebird database is ready to communicate with Elipse E3.
