Question:
How does compatibility between E3 versions work?
Solution:
Generally speaking, any application developed in a certain version can be opened/edited/executed the same version or higher. For example, an application developed in version 2.5 can perfectly be opened with version 3.0.
However, the opposite is not possible, and Elipse Software cannot assure you that the application will work properly, because it is possible that several modifications/updates have been implemented on a newer version and they may not work on a previous version. Also, if an application has been edited on a newer application, you cannot open it in the previous version anymore.
It is important to notice that, even if the application is able to apparently open in an older version without any problems, some settings will be lost due to version’s updates. For example, take an event created in the version 3.0 that did not exist in the version 2.5; if the application had any script in this event, it is lost if you open the application in a version where the event did not exist.
