{"id":9388,"date":"2019-11-14T10:55:36","date_gmt":"2019-11-14T13:55:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/en\/?p=9388"},"modified":"2019-11-14T10:55:36","modified_gmt":"2019-11-14T13:55:36","slug":"tag-writing-in-elipse-e3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/en\/tag-writing-in-elipse-e3\/","title":{"rendered":"Tag writing in Elipse E3."},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Question:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>How does the I\/O tag writing process work in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elipse.com.br\/en\/produto\/elipse-e3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Elipse E3<\/a>?<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Solution:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>First of all, there are two possible modes for I\/O tag writing in Elipse E3: <strong>synchronous writes <\/strong>and <strong>asynchronous writes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>To set it up, firstly you&#8217;ll have to access the Driver&#8217;s <strong>WriteSyncMode<\/strong> property; this property establishes how the writes will be sent to the I\/O Server. The available values for this property are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>0 &#8211; wsmDefault: Synchronous mode (default).<\/li>\n<li>1 &#8211; wsmSync: Synchronous mode (manual).<\/li>\n<li>2 &#8211; wsmAsyncUnconfirmed: Asynchronous mode.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Likewise, you can choose the write types in the parameters of\u00a0 <strong>Write<\/strong> and <strong>WriteEx <\/strong>methods, <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/en\/category\/english\/elipse-e3-en\/scripts-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via scripts<\/a>. When you write a value in a setpoint on a screen, the write type will be the same as the one configured in <strong>WriteSyncMode<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Both synchronous and asynchronous writes will happen right after the interaction taking place at the moment (read or write); neither type will wait for a driver&#8217;s complete scan cycle (read cycle). In both cases, the operation time (sending data and receiving feedback from the driver) is the same.<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>asynchronous writes<\/strong> (unconfirmed), the E3Run will send the value to the I\/O Server and not wait for any return; in this type of write, the system assumes the script has always been succesful. Soon after, the application is immediately released for following its established course of action.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, for <strong>synchronous writes<\/strong> (confirmed), the E3Run will send the value to the I\/O Server and then wait for the device&#8217;s return to confirm its value and release the application.
