Your projects, libraries, and settings can be edited remotely, and your servers require no in-site maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>There are three types of remote maintenance procedures in E3:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A general procedure (for all and any cases);<\/li>\n<li>A specific procedure of opening files on the network (available only for Microsoft networks);<\/li>\n<li>A specific procedure for applications with two Hot-Standby servers (available for version 3.0 or higher).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These procedures are detailed below.<\/p>\n<p><u><b>General procedure (for all types of applications): <\/b><\/u><\/p>\n<p>1. Copy all files from the domain to the computer where E3Studio is (<b>NOTE<\/b>: the filepath must be the same as the server&#8217;s).<br \/>\n2. Edit the settings in the computer where E3Studio is.<br \/>\n3. Copy the edited files to the server, overwriting the old ones.<br \/>\n4. Connect E3Studio to the domain server via <b>Connect to<\/b> option under <b>File <\/b>menu.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/pt-br\/images\/ID97\/Figure1.PNG\" alt=\"\" width=\"277\" height=\"294\" align=\"Baseline\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p>5. Click <b>Run the Application<\/b> button\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/pt-br\/images\/ID97\/Solta1.PNG\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"21\" align=\"Baseline\" border=\"0\" \/> to update the changes in the server.<\/p>\n<p><b>NOTE<\/b>: In version 2.5 or lower, DCOM was the protocol used for remote communication between E3 modules. For further information, please refer to <b><a href=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/pt-br\/questions\/79\/DCOM+and+Firewall+Settings+in+Windows+XP%7B47%7D2003%7B47%7DVista%7B47%7D2008+for+Elipse+applications.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DCOM and Firewall Settings in Windows XP\/2003\/Vista\/2008 for Elipse applications<\/a><\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><u><b><br \/>\nSpecific procedure of opening files on the network (only for Microsoft networks):<\/b><\/u><\/p>\n<p>1. Share the application folder in the computer where E3Server is.<br \/>\n2. In the machine where E3Studio is, open the shared domain and connect E3Studio to the domain server via Connect to option under File menu.<br \/>\n3. Edit all the required settings in the computer where E3Studio is.<br \/>\n4. Still in the same computer (where E3Studio is), run the application via <b>Run the Application<\/b> button <img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/pt-br\/images\/ID97\/Solta1.PNG\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"21\" align=\"Baseline\" border=\"0\" \/>.<\/p>\n<p><u><b>Specific procedures for applications with two hot-standby servers (available for version 3.0 or higher):<\/b><\/u><\/p>\n<p>1. Add the computer where E3Studio is to the domain servers list.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/pt-br\/images\/ID97\/Figure2.PNG\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"442\" align=\"Baseline\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"0\" vspace=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p>2. Copy the application files to the computer where E3Studio is (use the same local path to load the domain automatically).<br \/>\n3. Edit all the required settings in the computer where E3Studio is.<br \/>\n4. Copy the edited files back to both domain servers.<br \/>\n5.
