{"id":3486,"date":"2019-03-25T17:44:31","date_gmt":"2019-03-25T20:44:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xexeu.elipse.com.br\/pt\/snmp-messages-at-elipse-scada\/"},"modified":"2019-10-18T09:47:43","modified_gmt":"2019-10-18T12:47:43","slug":"snmp-messages-at-elipse-scada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/en\/snmp-messages-at-elipse-scada\/","title":{"rendered":"SNMP messages at Elipse SCADA."},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"justify\">\n<p>To enable Elipse SCADA to send SNMP traps to a server on the network, the following settings are necessary:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Installing and setting up Windows SNMP service.<\/li>\n<li>Installing Elipse SCADA&#8217;s SNMP agent.<\/li>\n<li>Installing and setting up an SNMP Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This article illustrates these procedures.<\/p>\n<p><u><b>Services to install Windows SNMP<\/b><\/u><\/p>\n<p>To use the SNMP Agent in Windows 2000\/XP, you must access the <b>Start&#8211;Settings&#8211;Control Panel&#8211;Add or Remove Programs<\/b> menu. On the displayed window, select <b>Add\/Remove Windows Components<\/b> option. At <b>Components List<\/b>, select <i><b>Management and Monitoring Tools<\/b><\/i>.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/pt-br\/images\/ID5181\/figura1.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"503\" height=\"385\" align=\"Baseline\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Access <b>Details <\/b>button and select the two existing objects.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/pt-br\/images\/ID5181\/figura2.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"449\" height=\"344\" align=\"Baseline\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p><u><b>Setting up the Windows Agent <\/b><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Once these objects have been installed, you will need to set them up. To do so, access Windows Services via <b>Start&#8211;Settings&#8211;Control Panel&#8211;Adminstrative Tool-Services<\/b> menu.<\/p>\n<p>Search for <b>SNMP Service<\/b> and access its properties by double-clicking it, which causes the service&#8217;s properties window to be displayed.<\/p>\n<p>On <b>General <\/b>tab, set up <b>Startup Type<\/b> as <i><b>Automatic<\/b><\/i>.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/pt-br\/images\/ID5181\/figura3.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"410\" height=\"461\" align=\"Baseline\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p>On <b>Traps <\/b>tab, create a <b>Community name<\/b> called <i><b>public<\/b><\/i>, and at <b>Trap destinations<\/b>, add the IP of the computer where this network&#8217;s SNMP manager is.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/pt-br\/images\/ID5181\/figura4.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"410\" height=\"461\" align=\"Baseline\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Set up <b>Security <\/b>tab as seen below.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/pt-br\/images\/ID5181\/figura5.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"410\" height=\"461\" align=\"Baseline\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p><u><b><br \/>\nSetting up the Elipse Agent <\/b><\/u><\/p>\n<p>In order to have your Elipse SNMP Agent working properly, you must create its keys at Windows Registry.<\/p>\n<p>To access it, go to<b> Start&#8211;Run&#8211;Regedit<\/b>; having done so, select the following path:<\/p>\n<div align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: Courier New;\">[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\ Services\\SNMP\\Parameters\\ExtensionAgents]<\/span><\/div>\n<p>If the SNMP services were correctly installed, a few keys will be displayed, as seen below:<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/pt-br\/images\/ID5181\/figura6.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"164\" align=\"Baseline\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"0\" vspace=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p>You will then need to create one more key, with the following information:<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/pt-br\/images\/ID5181\/figura7.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"384\" height=\"162\" align=\"Baseline\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Notice that the value for <b>Value name<\/b> is the value that comes after the last existing registry.<\/p>\n<p>After that, create a registry key for the previously specified object. The path for the Elipse agent will be set up in this key.<\/p>\n<p>On the path<\/p>\n<div align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: Courier New;\">[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\SNMP\\CurrentVersion]<\/span><\/div>\n<p>a new string key will be created containing the agent&#8217;s path.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/pt-br\/images\/ID5181\/figura8.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"384\" height=\"162\" align=\"Baseline\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Once the registry has been changed, you will need to register the file at Windows.
