Which driver can I use to communicate with S7-200\/S7-300\/S7-400\/S7-1200 PLCs?<\/p>\n

Solution:<\/span><\/p>\n

Elipse Software has developed several I\/O drivers for Siemens devices, and the most widely used with S7 series is M-Prot<\/span> driver. This driver can communicate with several protocols, and the PLC must be set up accordingly. Below there is a reference table for M-Prot protocols.<\/p>\n

  • Adapters via USB interface (Siemens PPI-MPI\/PC cable) are not supported by M-Prot driver.<\/li>\n
  • Different combinations can eventually be contemplated. The ones presented in this article are the most common ones, though.<\/li>\n
  • They can also be linked with hardware that is not produces by Siemens. M-Prot’s help presents a few possibilities. However, the user must research the subject before associating with unknown hardware.<\/li>\n
  • ISO-TCP protocol can also be called ISO over TCP, RFC1006, or S7-TCP\/IP.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
