Why does it happen?<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Solution:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Sometimes, the Viewer appears to be connected when the computer had in fact been turned off. It can happen because the E3Server&#8217;s license heartbeat&#8217;s configuration (<em>LicenseHeartBeat <\/em>property) is incorrect. This property establishes how long the E3Server will wait for a Viewer keep-alive (or <em>heartbeat<\/em>) before disconnecting it.<\/p>\n<p>If the property value is equal to 0 (zero), the system will turn off the <em>heartbeat<\/em>. Therefore, this very configuration may be what&#8217;s causing the Viewer licenses to &#8220;hang&#8221;; even when the Viewer is off, E3 Server will not read them as disconnected, and so it will release the licenses only when the server restarts.<\/p>\n<p>The default value of <em>LicenseHeartBeat<\/em> is five seconds (5000 ms). Likewise, the time it takes the Viewer to communicate with the Server is always twice as much as the value from <em>LicenseHeartBeat<\/em>. In case of default value, E3 Viewer has ten seconds to send a <em>heartbeat<\/em> before disconnection.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/2006\/KB37129E3Tweak.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11223 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/2006\/KB37129E3Tweak.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"523\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To set up the <em>LicenseHeartBeat <\/em>property, you must use E3 Tweak; you can access this tool, installed alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elipse.com.br\/en\/produto\/elipse-e3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Elipse E3<\/a>, via
