This procedure is different from the one currently used to configure an OPC DA server.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">An OPC UA server provides application Tags (according to the selected exposure option), including Tags from data folders and I\/O Drivers, allowing client devices to access this information in a secure and standardized way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">To use the OPC UA server feature in <b>Elipse E3<\/b>, this functionality must be <b>enabled in the hardkey<\/b>. Also, the OPC UA server is bound to a limit of I\/O points, defined when purchasing a license.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">Configuring Elipse E3 as an OPC UA server:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0cm;\" type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">In <b>E3 Admin<\/b>, right-click a <b>Domain <\/b>and select <b>Options<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">On the <b>Domain Configuration<\/b> window, select the <b>OPC UA Server<\/b> tab.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Select the <b>Enable OPC UA server <\/b>option.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-16025 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/1_15756EN.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"799\" height=\"644\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/1_15756EN.png 799w, https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/1_15756EN-300x242.png 300w, https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/1_15756EN-768x619.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 799px) 100vw, 799px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">In the <b>Default option for OPC UA server object exposure<\/b> option, select the type of exposure for application objects:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0cm;\" type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">eeExpose<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-US\">: exposes<br \/>\nall server objects from an application for Reading and writing;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">eeExposeAsReadOnly<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-US\">: exposes all objects as read-only;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">eeDontExpose<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-US\">: does not expose any object for external access.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">Note:<\/span><\/i><\/b><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Exposure can also be configured individually by using the <b>ExposeToOPC <\/b>property of the folder that contains the objects.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-16019 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/2_15756EN.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"297\" height=\"432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/2_15756EN.png 297w, https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/2_15756EN-206x300.png 206w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 297px) 100vw, 297px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0cm;\" type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The <b>URL for OPC UA clients connection <\/b>option is read-only and will be used later when configuring the client. Copy this information.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">In the <b>Connection Points Security <\/b>option, select a security level.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Click <b>OK<\/b> to save these settings.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16020\" src=\"https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/3_15756EN.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"799\" height=\"642\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/3_15756EN.png 799w, https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/3_15756EN-300x241.png 300w, https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/3_15756EN-768x617.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 799px) 100vw, 799px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Right now, the OPC UA Server of <b>Elipse E3<\/b> is already configured and enabled. Users must return to this window later on the next steps.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">Configuration of Elipse E3 as an OPC UA Client:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0cm;\" type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Create a new <b>OPC UA Driver<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Create an OPC UA subscription.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Select the Driver and, on the Properties list:<\/span>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0cm;\" type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Define the <b>EndpointURL<\/b> property with the URL copied previously from the OPC UA server.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Also configure the values of the <b>SecurityMode <\/b>and <b>SecurityPolicy<\/b> properties, compatible with the ones defined on the server.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-18118 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/18113\/UAClient2-e1788439672890.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"339\" height=\"146\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/18113\/UAClient2-e1788439672890.png 339w, https:\/\/kb.elipse.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/18113\/UAClient2-e1788439672890-300x129.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 339px) 100vw, 339px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">Starting communication:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0cm;\" type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">In the Server application, start the domain.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">In the Client application, activate the communication of the <b>OPC UA Driver<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Go back to the <b>Domain Configuration <\/b>window in the Server.
